Samsung Galaxy S8 Rumor Suggests No Headphone Jack

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was a debacle that set the Korean company back. Not only does it need to repair its damaged image and regain consumer’s trust, the next flagship needs to have all the bells and whistles to make it worth the while. Samsung Galaxy S8 isn’t due to be released until next year but rumors are already flying in. The latest suggests that the device is taking a page from Apple’s playbook by removing the 3.5mm headphone jack.

We don’t know yet if this is to be believed and the information is to be taken with a grain of salt. Samsung and Apple have been known to copy each other’s ideas and there may be some truth to this news. According to rumors, Samsung Galaxy S8 will also have an stereo audio setup similar to the one on the iPhone 7. The removal of the headphone jack too may likely be to make the phone thinner or to make more space for a larger battery.

Another rumor suggest that the next flagship from Samsung is getting rid of the home button. It is said that the fingerprint sensor would be built into the screen as seen on Xiaomi Mi 5s.
Again, Samsung Galaxy S8 might do away with the PenTile Diamond pixel arrangement in favor of the traditional RGB color arrangement. This should increase the the number of pixels on the screen by 50% even at Quad HD resolution. The phone is also said to come with USB Type C.

It should be reiterated that these are only unconfirmed rumors. Samsung Galaxy S8 should be announced at MWC in February.
